What are safety considerations for glass table tops?
Usually glass table tops are used to protect furniture in high traffic areas. Some of the more commonly protected pieces of furniture are items like coffee tables, office desks, dining room tables, or meeting room tables. In most cases a 1/4” glass is used over these wood surfaces and tempered glass is not recommended. If a glass top is desired for a pedestal table where there is not a solid surface for the glass to rest on then tempered glass is recommended.
